If you know about tattoo guns then this is the ISH!! iv'e been using just standard simple liners and shaders to get the feel of the machine and to be fair they helped me produce respectable work,but having used someones Micky Sharpz...i felt the difference and knew i had to fork out some extra money on a quality machine...it can only get better from here...

MORE TATTOO DESIGNS...IMPROVEMENT

Ive been researching loads of tattoo artists and have been soaking the info like a sponge...i can see reference all around me..i like to take them straight from the source i.e.plants, objects and espically people....
went to Paris last month and was taking photos of the architecture,statues etc..it is a great city for artists!!
i have been trying to perfect a specific style of my of my art for years..cus i do so many differnt forms..starting from graffiti,to caricatures,then airbrushing,to using pastels,strong biro pieces to bold mechanical pencil shadings and now my latest project...using oil paints!!in my tattoo sketches i was really trying to go old skool mainly basing it around the victorian era..focusing on the filigree designs and decroative pieces...

but i have now started fine-tuning my work to a photo-realistic style with a twist mainly using portraits and then creating some sort of interest/story from them..most of my sketches are unfinished but i am working on them always...anyways enjoy..

WORKING IN A STUDIO..

A previous workmate came upto me and had an idea of having a photography,hairdressing and tattoo studio all in one...and wanted me to be a custom tattooist...of course i was up for the chance and we started planning what was going to happen...planning websites,opening dates, having meetings etc...
i was telling people about it and how great it was...then at the last minute,things changed...he brought in another tattooist which i would work along side and learn from which i was fine with cus it took off some of the pressure...then i was juggling this between modelling and working part-time(but put this first)...was reguarly meeting with the guys, asking questions to show my interest and it was all going well until....the communication became less and less before opening date and i didnt know what was happening...
to cut a long story short...the guy completely switched personalities like i insulted his mum or something...really OUT OF THE GREEN(not even blue)!!so as it was getting closer to the end of the project i decided i would rather get my stuff and look elsewhere its not worth the effort...

and this setback will only push me on to try harder to find a shop to work in and become one the MOST REPUTABLE TATTOOISTS IN THE UK!!

I have been learning to tattoo since before last summer practicing on fake skin,grapefruits etc..and of course still learning now...i have alot of people that are willing to let me practice on them..which i wasnt confident about doing...sooo...

i read up on loads of books on health and safety...the whole tattoo proccess, watched videos, spoken to proffessional tattoo artists and even had myself tattooed and observed from a different angle not only being a customer but also questioning as if i was an apprentice.....

I have never researched something sooo much before IN MY LIFE!!!

Anyways as youve seen earlier i started on real skin which was how most tattooists start by doing it on themselves...which i never thought i'd do but went for it when i had the confidence and it turned out ok....since then i have done my good friend Nate and a couple others...

Ive realised that i REALLY need to update my blog..i have been busy doing something completely different which was modelling in the fashion industry!!RANDOM..but i didnt stop drawing eve when juggling a part-time job!!

however...

I have still found time to keep drawing and adapting my style towards tattooing...I am very passionate about the art of tattooing and am forever learning new methods,rules,whatever you want to call them...to become a reputable tattooist

Greetings all...

Hope your having a good summer!!As you've noticed i havn't posted sketches recently only because i've been focusing extremely hard on 'THE ART OF TATTOOOOING'!!!like previously mentioned before, A lot of people come up to me at work asking me about my tattoos...who did em?where did i get em done?etc...so i started adapting my art style more towards tattoo art...

After doing various commissions for people i realised i enjoy this style alot and would like to get more involved in this...sooo took the next step and 'got myself a gun'!!Tattoo gun that is!!I've been practicing for a month now and have been doing this on fake skin and grapefruits...

I've been studying and enquiring about tattoo practice and obviously the main aspects of the Health and Safety issues at local parlours....anyhoo here's a couple of photos..and hopefully you'll like what you see...!!

sorry i havn't updated the site in a while, had technical difficulties but now back up and running...ok!

soooooooo we (ifreecans) were asked to make the hallway leading to the lifts, toilets and fire exits a bit more interesting..so they provided the materials and we did our thing...

as usual i wasn't happy with my first design so changed it completely..hope you like the outcome!!

I've found that people take an interest to the tattoos i have..and often ask who did it?where did i get em done?did i design them??...I love tattoos and am always looking at tattooists work for inspiration...i've incorporated this style of art in some of my work mainly focusing on photo-realism and lettering..I have always wanted to start tattooing because i find it very interesting how someone would trust you to mark them for the rest of their life...it would make someone very proud to see that much appreciation for their work...
anyhoo im a bit tired and blabbering on now,but basically..in the meantime alot of people have asked me to do tattoo designs for them,i've been putting it off for a while,or just actually been really busy...but its time i get on it and post up some comissioned tattoo designs...

The new name which describes my art...its a random name which you wouldn't relate to art but would remember,yet it actually has a deeper meaning to it which is described at the top of the blog...
This style of art is raw and sketchy,similar to graphic comics and graffiti with a darker gothic yet innocent side to it...with my art i like to push the boundaries, always challenging myself doing so by switching styles and mixing media...anways hope you like it....J

Like my art, tin order to progress further then alot of the time you need to take risks and change...
KB84 set up the shop last year,he's met an unthinkable amount of contacts and through this produced a lot of collaborations...we all talked as a group and decided to move location...
now situated at the top of the stables market(near Proud) we have already noticed a better flow of customers...it was getting too crowded in the old shop espically because of the amount of work being produced..but now with a bigger shop and better location,we should expect good things to come for 2010!!

Im not sure how they did it?but i literally found out the night before that the guys had organized getting involved in streetfest09...

which consisted of a warehouse in shoreditch+a half-pipe full of skaters+live art+live performers+adidas/g-shock sponsers=a great night in east london!!

It was amazing,we were doing live art behind the musicians for most of the night alongside SecretWars champs Monorex,couldn't ask for a better experience...

FIRST EXHIBITION

Twas summer 2009 when i had my first exhibition with ifreecans collective..it was nice hot day, so hot we could wear t-shirts without freezing at night!(so rare in england)..
anyway we travelled up the road to Monkey Chews in Chalk Farm where we exhibited our work..it was a good turn out and i got to meet and collaborate with other artists..

Hello people this is my first blog so still getting to grips with this new found technolog

i had a clothing range before called Merkage Klothing(http://www.merkage09.piczo.com/) which did well but was only for a very specific customer..after stumbling along i-free-cans-collective in camden town,it inspired me to take my art to a new level...

since then i've been involved in a few exhibitions, events and have a place in the shop. I am now happy to be a part of the collective and look forward to what the future brings..

i'll be updated this blog as much as possible and will post up exhibitions, events, etc as much as possible...
